The parental control tools can manage 20 or more predefined website categories such as adult, games, gambling, shopping, criminal activities and proxies. You can also block or allow specific websites and regulate how much time your child spends online.
To facilitate uninterrupted game playing and streaming there is a game mode. When game mode is active it will suspend system notifications and pause scans. To protect from malware that infects via non-internet sources, it scans drives and discs and it can block by device type.

The feature list is excellent. In addition to antimalware, ESET Smart Security has a firewall, spam filters and a personal firewall. It also has parental control features that are really useful and designed with thought and care. ESET is highly usable in that it will not bog down computer resources. It is also very good at protecting against known and unknown malware. However, according to AV-Test labs, ESET cannot compete at the head of the class when it comes to repairing a computer that is already infected.
